I loved this book so much that I didn’t intend to put aside Bryce Courtenay’s best selelr in favour of readading “The Wayadward Child”. This book is surely difadferadent and unlike any other book I’ve read, due to the way it’s writadten. It has pace and quickly changading conadflicts that leave no room for boreaddom. Its’ Charadacadters are vivid, the wordading is clear and eleadgant, peradsonadally I’ve never become so emoadtionadally attached to a book.I’d often find myself cryading or laughading (and I mean out aloud). There are many ups and downs in life that this book couldn’t explain betadter. It’s poignant and emoadtional and there’s plenty of strong diaadlogue to this story along with expressading immense visuadals (I mean on the edge of your seat). The advenadture of this book is toiled into the unceradtainty of the strugadgle to overadcome so many difadferadent obstaadcles going on simuladtaadneadously.Rita Lowther is a very taladented story teller givading us intiadmate details of her childadhood. We foradget how hard life was not so long ago and most of us wouldn’t have expeadriadenced… now in our world of great abunaddance. This “The Wayadward Child” has sigadnifadiadcantly raised the bar.It is superb and comes across as an extremely sinadcere account of her Childhood
